T-minus One Day and Counting until the start of my portion of WRMB's 3-D Challenge and Midday Connection's Woman of Moderation Bible Study!
I've got my study book ready "Woman of Moderation" by Dee Brestin, and my Bible is handy. However, today, I had some important business to tie up: I said goodbye to some old friends and some old habits.
First, I said, "Farewell" to my friends at Dunkin Donuts at Lantana and State Road 7. They tried to entice me to come back with offers of "Low Fat Muffins" and Whole Wheat Bagels. While I know that they mean well, I think it's just too risky now to drive through without first having established some solid barriers.
Secondly, I said goodbye to my afternoon M&M run at the local gas station at the corner of Boynton Beach Blvd, and Congress near the station. By the way the short walk doesn't come close to burning the calories consumed by those multi-colored sugar pills!

Hey, I got you a Star Bucks card! Naw...I'm just kidding. I am praying for your endeavor!

Hey, Thanks, Bro.
I'll take that Star Bucks Card! I can have the coffee, just not any of those goodies they showcase behind the glass! I appreciate the prayers. It won't be easy!
Way to go, Jennifer. You are following Solomon's advice about avoiding those paths, not traveling on them, turning from them! We must get rid of the booby traps before we begin. I had to box up all the leftover Christmas sugar - even the candy canes I don't even like (but was eating) and take them to the church youth group! Hurrah! I will no longer feed that Christmas goblin - he needs to be very very weakened.
Thank you for cheering us on, leading us, encouraging us! Hurrah for South Florida listeners! May the Lord be with you.

you crack me up! look at you on a first name basis with the gals at D&D.
keep on the path sister. key is exercise, and better food choices, and lots of prayers to keep you honest!
hang in there!

Thanks, Shell. If anyone can keep me honest, it's you! :-)
BTW, I successfully went through the D&D drive through tonight just ordering a hazelnut coffee after a salad and smoked turkey meal at Sonny's Real Pit. Of course, it helped that Jack was chaperoning.
Does Lori the dieting guru have any words of wisdom?
Love to all the two-leggers and four leggers under your roof!
Hi Jennifer,
I was wondering if you thought of replacing your high-calorie "treats" with some other daily "treats." You could buy yourself a case of Diet Ginseng tea for example, and perhaps a case of Aveda Calm Tea. A friend bought this for me and it's so amazing. The taste is delicious, it has zero calories, and it makes me so calm! Other ideas are expensive mints, and gums, that maybe you wouldn't normally try. I am hypoglycemic and crave sugar often. But I can't just go without a treat. I have to replace my "treat" with something else. Just an idea for you.
